Trevor Loveday

Brighton, East Sussex
Painting

I am a painter of abstracts from moments and places and the moods they rekindle in me from a life of science, performance and other unexpected elements.

With each piece I ask myself: how can I enshrine those moments and share them?

I sketch expressively until I capture what I am aiming for. I then make the final painting, drawing closely on my experiments so I can combine expression with control.

I want people to engage in identifying the senses that go into each painting and ideally, draw something for themselves. My paintings are dark because I dream better at night.
